Hey everyone,
I know it's been a while since I last posted about Warhawks baseball, But I wanted to let you know I will be posting some stuff soon updating some other games with their wins....and yes their loses. But big news has happened for me recently. Recently I've been asked by Drew Fellios of Bright House sports network to come talk on his radio show. I will be coming to talk on the show tomorrow around noon on yes Easter Sunday March 31. The nature of this visit and talking time is to discuss a matter that is very important to me, my family, and has been important to students and people of the community of Seminole. I will be discussing information about this year's fourth annual forever friends golf tournament that will happen on Saturday, April 6 at the Seminole Lakes country club. This tournament pays honor and tribute to Nate Richardson, Keith MacCollom, LeShawn Smith, and Joey Ruzecki who died on April 10, 2009 in a terrible car crash in Seminolel; which happened to be on Good Friday, Easter weekend. Since April 10, 2010, the forever friends golf tournament has raised money for scholarships in the boys' names plus other charitable organizations throughout Pinellas County. So if you want to hear what all I have to say about the tournament plus if you're interested in attending, please tune in tomorrow around noon on 98.7 FM The Fan. Here is the link for all of you to tune in if anybody is living outside Pinellas County or the state of FL:

Thank you all, and all the best,
B.K.R.

After the Seminole Warhawks returned over the weekend suffering a devastating loss to Winter Haven High School (7-5) and getting a victory over Lake Wales High School (4-3), it was time to get back to business and start winning some district games. Seminoles fifth home game was against district team Pinellas Park High School. The Warhawks knew they were in for a tough game against the Patriots standout pitcher #2 RHP Brandon Grigsby while going into this with the same record as their district opponent (8-2). Stepping onto the mound for the Warhawks would be RHP Nick Nolan; and what a night it would be for him! He started the game by striking out the first three batters and before long Seminole would take an early 2-o lead after  second baseman #24 Scotty Withrow hit a triple allowing short stop #3 Alex McGathey to score. 3rd baseman #21 Chris Berry eventually brought Withrow in with #8 Jacob Silverstien added another run to the Warhawks. Scotty Withrow singled in the bottom of the second inning making the score 3-0. Silverstein tripled in the bottom of the 4th. Seminole would face not just a tough team with a standout starting pitcher but also the umpires. During the game, timeouts were called multiple times due to some outspoken Warhawk fans along the 3rd base line. Who says there is nothing wrong with team spririt. #34 Tylor Craft delivered a beautiful double bringing in #5 Cody Miller who pitch ran for Nick Nolan in the bottom of the fifth inning, making the score 4-0. The Patriots would make a pitching change bringing in #23 Zach Taylor. Nolan would hold out the game and pitched a NO HITTER. This would be his first one in his entire high school baseball career. The Warhawks would take home another district victory and now would secure the first place spot in the 7A District 10 standings. Their new record stands at 9-2 and 5-0 for the district. Their next game is against St. Petersburg High School on Friday March 12 at Seminole High School Warhawk Field. COMMENTS FROM ALL:

COACH JEFF PINCUS:
NICK NOLANS NO-HITTER:
I didnt actually tell him anything going into that 7th inning. I just asked him if he had anything left in him to close it and he said "Of course coach." Nick has been a rock this season. He has been on everytime. Honest to goodness, I didn't know it was a no-hitter till about the fifth inning and then I was just in shock that it happened. I mean it is a rarity against any team, especially a good team that is 8-2 and tied with you in the district and throwing their best pitcher. I tip my hat to them. Nick pounded that strike zone and even when he fell behind, he just wailed right back.

Defensively, the effort was phenominal!

We have been working our tails off trying to get them to pay attention to situational hitting. We knew that Brandon Grigsby is a very good pitcher and we knew that we that if we got a couple of runs on the board early we would have a shot. And the first four at bats that happened were phenominal.

THIRD BASE ISSUE:
We have gotten a reputation throughout Pinellas County for our exhuberant fans. I thought that going to a baseball game was about cheering and having some fun, but apparently not. Apparently it was not. Some of our fans have been a little less than appropriate.

RHP NICK NOLAN:
REACTION TO NO-HITTER:
My first no-hitter ever. I'll take a little bit of the credit, but i have to give alot of that to Alex making great plays at short stop, Chris making great plays at third, Scotty and Corey, everyone making great plays and doing their jobs and especially Mike making plays behind the plate.

TOUCHING ON PAST TWO AWAY GAMES:
You know you always try to get better even if you win or lose. Even though those games dont count for anything and even though we would have loved to have won them, it just made us better and want to come back and win tonight.

REALIZING THE NO-HITTER:
It sort of hit me the fifth inning. I noticed everyone stopped talking to me in the dugout so yea I definately knew that it was happening but i came out and battled as I always do.

BATTERS THAT HE WAS NERVOUS TO FACE:
Definately Ryan Reinoso cause I know he has been hitting the ball well and Darrell Webber is just a scrappy player and I have played ball with both of them my whole life.

THAT MOMENT IT HAPPENED:
I knew he had it. I saw the angle of it and he came right under the ball and caught it and well that was it!!

ON BATTING AND WHAT TO COME:
When I pitch, I like to focus on that, although I like to get hits and I like hitting, heck thats how you get points on the board. I dont let my bats take me into the field. I will be back to third base on Friday.

DISCLAIMER: I would like to note at certain points, the information that I assertate and obtain comes from reliable sources in or around Seminole Athletics and other organizations. Form this, it allows me to publish the correct information that comes from reliable sources, even though I was not at the game physically. I would like to point out still that even though FIRST BY ME represent information reported first by me, even though I was not at the game, I will still have the decency to acknowledge that I was not, and that the information speaks for itself. After all I am trying to be honest, the LAST HONEST REPORTER.
After facing off against the now 1-3 Clearwater Tornadoes, it was back on the road again for the Warhawks as they traveled to face off against the 0-2 St. Pete High School Green Devils. #27 Nick Nolan was the starting pitcher for the Warhawks and after 5 innings was pulled. #11 Corey Baptist made his first appearance at the mound and threw a scoreless 6th inning. #14 Damian Lovett came into the game into the 7th and closed the game. Crucial hits were made by #11 Baptist, #24 Scotty Withrow, #9 Mike Mann and #3 Alex McGathey.  Seminole's next home game is against Countryside High School on Tuesday March 5th at 7 pm. AS QUOTED FROM MAXPREPS

"Nick Nolan picked up his 3rd victory without a loss surviving some sloppy defense and a potent St Pete offense. Corey Baptist made his 1st appearance on the mound throwing a scoreless 6th and Damian Lovett picked up the save with a scoreless 7th. Mike Mann stymied the St Pete running game throwing out 3 would be basestealers in critical situations. Mike also delivered an RBI 2B to give the Warhawks their 1st lead. Scottie Withrow, who had earloer in the day signed with Florida Southern, drove in 3 runs and Corey Baptist added a RBI 3B. Alex McGathey also had a crucial 2 out RBI line drive to regain the lead in the 5th. Seminole improved to 6-1 on the season."
